On May 6, within the framework of the Armenia–Georgia Business Forum held in Yerevan, a meeting took place between the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, and the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili.
A wide range of issues related to the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of economy was discussed.
“We attach great importance to deepening the economic relations between Armenia and Georgia and consider it essential to take joint steps aimed at identifying and preventing obstacles to trade and cooperation between our two countries at an early stage—so that we do not lose time later on searching for solutions,” noted Minister Papoyan.
During the meeting, the Armenian Minister of Economy emphasized that trade and economic relations between the two countries are developing successfully. At the same time, he pointed out the need to take measures to eliminate all potential barriers slowing down the smooth flow of trade, simplify customs procedures, and promote a transparent investment environment.
Special attention was also given to deepening cooperation in the fields of agriculture, renewable energy, environmental technologies, and tourism.
